Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dogs native to Chihuahua state in Mexico and with a nickname New Yorker. It is a tiny toy sized dog with body longer than tall. They have a round and apple shaped head with short muzzle, dark round eyes and erect and large ears. The tail is long and curled at side or at the back. The coat may be short or long and wavy or flat and comes in solid colors including black, white, fawn, silver, sable, chestnut, blue, and tan.

Although Chihuahua is a very small breed of dog and has a nervous temperament but it is an excellent companion dog. They are lively and cheerful and enjoy affection. Depending upon the breed, the height of Chihuahua varies from 6-12 inches and the weight between 3-6 pounds. Chihuahua is a loyal dog that easily becomes attached to their masters. They are little tricky to train but since they are intelligent, they can quickly learn and respond to the firm yet gentle training.
